‘ನಾಡೋಜಾ ಡಾ| ಉ.ಶಂಕರ್ ರವರ 64ನೇ ವರ್ಷದ ಹುಟ್ಟು ಹಬ್ಬದ ಆಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಮೀನುಗಾರರ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಸಹಕಾರಿ ಸಂಘ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೊಗವೀರ ಯುವ ಸಂಘಟನೆ ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ ಹೆಮ್ಮಾಡಿ ಘಟಕ ಇದರಿಂದ ತಲ್ಲೂರಿನ ವಿಶೇಷ ಚೇತನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದು ಆಚರಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಪ್ರಥಮವಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿಯರು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ವರ್ಗದವರಿಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೇಳಲೇಬೇಕು. ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಸಹನಾ ಮೂರ್ತಿ ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ ಅದು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕಾರಗೊಂದಿದೆ. ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಹನಾಶೀಲತೆಯ ಸೇವೆ ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಸಿಗಲಿ ಅಂತೆಯೆ ಅದೆಷ್ಟೋ ಬಾಳಿನ ಬೆಳಕು ಕಾಣದ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಬದುಕಿಗೆ ಆಸರೆಯಾಗಿರಲಿ ಎಂದು ಆಶಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.’

‘ಹಿಲ್ಕೋಡ ಉಮೇಶ ಗಾಣಿಗ ಇವರ ಪುತ್ರಿ ತನಿಷ್ಕಾ ಇವಳ ಮೂರನೇ ವರ್ಷದ ಜನ್ಮ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ತಲ್ಲೂರಿನ ವಿಶೇಷ ಚೇತನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ನಮಗೆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಇರುವ ಎರಡು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಸಾಕುವುದು ಕಷ್ಟದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿಯರು ವಿಶೇಷ ಚೇತನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ರೀತಿ ತುಂಬಾ ಖುಷಿ ಆಯಿತ್. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಮಾಡಿರುವುದು ತುಂಬಾ ಸಂತೋಷ ಆಯಿತು ಹಾಗೂ ನಮಗೆ ಸಹಕಾರವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ತಲ್ಲೂರು ಪ್ಯಾಮಿಲಿ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ಗೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.’

Educating children is such a difficult & thankless job but on top of that working with special need kids makes the job even mores challenging. Hence, I am so awe with the trust’s work. ‘ನಾರಾಯಣ ವಿಶೇಷ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ನೆರಳು ಸೇವಾ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿನ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಭೇಟಿಯಾದ ಕ್ಷಣ. ಅದ್ಭುತವಾದ ಗುಣವುಳ್ಳ ಮಕ್ಕಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾಲ ಕಳೆದದ್ದು ತುಂಬಾ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಯಿತು. ಶಿಕ್ಷಕ ವೃಂದವರ ಸೇವೆ ಅಭೂತಪೂರ್ವವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇವರಿಗೆ ನೆರಳು ಸೇವಾಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್‍ನ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಹೃತ್ಫೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ.’

‘ದಿನಾಂಕ ೧೦/೦೨/೨೦೧೦ರಂದು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ೯ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ೨೦೦೮-೦೯ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ ವಿಶೇಷ ಬಿ.ಎಡ್ ತರಬೇತಿ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು 11 ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಕಲಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ೩ ಜನ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿಯರು ಉತ್ತಮ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಫ್ಯಾಮಿಲಿ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಹೊಸ ಕಟ್ಟಡದ ರಚನೆ ಕೂಡಾ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದುದು ಕಂಡು ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಈ ಫ್ಯಾಮಿಲಿಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ನ ಸರ್ವಸದಸ್ಯರಿಗೂ ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿಯರಿಗೆ ದೇವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ವಿಶೇಷಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಉತ್ತೇಜನ ಸಿಗಲಿ ಎಂದು ಹಾರೈಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.’ -
‘ದಿ. ೨೦.೦೩.೨೦೧೦ರಂದು ಅಪರಾಹ್ನ ಕೆ.ಎಸ್.ಒ.ಯುನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿ.ಇಡಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ನಾವು ಈ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಕುರಿತು ಸಮಗ್ರ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದೆವು. ಸರಕಾರದ ನೆರವಿಗೆ ಕಾಯದೆ ಸ್ವಂತ ಖರ್ಚಿನಿಂದ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿಗೂ, ತಾಳ್ಮೆ-ಶಿಸ್ತಿನಿಂದ ಕಲಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕವೃಂದದವರಿಗೂ ತುಂಬು ಹೃದಯದ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಗಳು.’

‘ದಿನಾಂಕ ೦೭/೦೭/೨೦೧೦ರಂದು ನಾವು ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ತರಬೇತಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಹೊಲಿಗೆಯಂತ್ರವನ್ನು ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರಿಸಿದೆವು ಹಾಗೂ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿ ನಮಗೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಯಿತು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯೂ ಆಯಿತು. ನಮ್ಮ ಆನ್ಸ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಸದಸ್ಯೆಯರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಶಾಲೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಸಂತೋಷದ ವಿಚಾರ. ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲು ಶಕ್ತಿ ನೀಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ಹಾರೈಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.’

ACTIVITIES
Tallur Family Trust took its shape when individual social initiatives were thought out in the line of giving it an institutional form. The trust has already involved itself in social, cultural, educational and health sectors of the region.
- Trust started “Narayana Special School” a day care centre for mentally retarded children in the year 2008. The school is departing free education, physical activity, vocational trainings along with communication skills and rehabilitation skills.
- Tallur Family Trust has published a text book in mathematics for differently abled children, which is first of its kind in Karnataka.
- Tallur Family Trust has donated a Close Circuit Television System to the Library of Govinda Dasa College, Suratkal at a cost of Rs.60,000.00.
- Trust has donated school kits, uniforms and such other basic necessities to the students of Narayana Special School and has also encouraged sports aspirants.
- Trust has joined hands in organizing Ninasam Tirugata Theatre festivals at Kundapur during the years 2008, 2009.
PLANS
Tallur Family Trust has intentions to involve itself actively in cultural, social, educational and health related fields within its stretchable limits.
Trust has plans to open an out - patient health care facility that can cater free or nominal cost health care for needy at the trust building. The infrastructure is ready now and the process of registering with government authorities is underway. Tallur Family Trust has plans to provide educational help for the needy students who meet eligibility criteria set by the trust.
OWN BUILDING
Tallur family has donated 16 cents prime land adjacent to NH 66 to the Tallur Family Trust and the trust is planning to build a Health-Social- Cultural Centre on this land. The first phase of this 10,000 sq ft Centre is already in place with financial assistance from the Trust Family Members and the Narayana Special School is operating from this premises.
Trust intends to establish following facilities during this first phase
- Outdoor playing equipments for the mentally challenged children.
- A Youga and activity hall for the children.
- Out Patient Department for the medical service initiatives planned by the trust.
- An equipped Open Air amphitheatre with permanent seating gallery for social activities.
- Quarters for Teaching Staff.
- Library and teaching aids for mentally challenged children.

NARAYANA
NARAYANA SPECIAL SCHOOL
Narayana Special School (Day care centre) was started on 14th January, 2008. It was started with just 4 children and now it is has 30 children from different parts of Kundapur Taluk.
Children from age group 7 to 27 years undergo training here. They are divided in to two groups as seniors and juniors. For junior children, school teaches functional academics along with training on daily chores. For Senior children, along with functional academics, additional training is provided towards developing life skills apart from daily chores. Eg., craft, tailoring and gardening etc.
In addition to the academic activities, training is being provided in extra academic activities such as Yoga, exercises, sports, music, dance etc. Children are encouraged to participate in the sports and cultural activities conducted by the district authorities and peer schools. An administrator, 4 qualified teachers, two trainee teachers, one maid, and one part-time vocational training teacher and a driver are working in this centre. Transport facility to and from the centre is being provided to the children. All these services are being provided free of cost.
Children’s uniform, academic materials are also being provided by the trust free of cost. Centre has well-equipped class-rooms, educational and sports materials, and basic amenities.
SAMSKRUTHI SANCHI
Samaskruti Sanchi was started in the year 2010 with an intention to enrich the cultural activities in the local community. At present, Samskruti Sanchi is conducting music, dance and drawing classes for the local students through experienced teachers.
ULLASADHAMA
With an intention to provide health services free or at reasonable price through the Trust, 2 out patient clinics have come up in the new building. Trust intends to provide quality health services to the local community through experienced and service minded health professionals here. Clinic registration process under KPME Act is underway. Apart from this, the Trust has plans to provide services of Speech-language therapists, Audiologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists etc. here in Tallur, for the benefit of the mentally challenged students of the Narayana Special School.
